| Momentum Technical Consulting standardizes on TimeSolv and WorkSolv for Project Management and Time Tracking |
Momentum Technical Consulting, Inc. (Momentum) provides process automation products and services to the chemical, manufacturing, oil and gas, and semiconductor industries. The solutions provided to customers are organized into projects and require careful tracking of tasks and work done to ensure completion of all requirements and proper billing.
Prior to use of TimeSolv and WorkSolv, Momentum’s billing was primarily handled by accounting and based off weekly reports that were then copied into accounting databases. This old system had a number of disadvantages and required considerable effort to keep everything organized. Also, it was not possible to directly access this information remotely, which made life more difficult for consultants that were off-site. The on-site software has traditionally been a challenge to maintain and upgrade as required.

"We can now enter the basic project information such as timelines, people assigned, and even create templates for standard processes." says Ralf Lukner, President of Momentum. TimeSolv and WorkSolv link the work done with active projects, so prior problems of people not knowing which project code to charge to or making associated mistakes in their reports were eliminated. Information can be accessed or entered via TimeSolv Corporation’s web page either from a personal computer or wireless PDA. "Our consultants can charge their time and expenses to clients or internal projects much more easily while managers can check the up-to-date status of any project." adds Lukner. WorkSolv notifies project participants as they are assigned to projects and project managers are notified by e-mail when tasks are completed. This e-mail notification eliminates duplicate communication. Key project information and budgets can be entered and financial information is instantly updated once project participants enter their timesheets.
By implementing TimeSolv and WorkSolv, Momentum Technical Consulting has increased the total amount of billable hours by 10% with important improvements to billing accuracy and clarity. Most surprising was the improvement in the productivity of overhead staff, which increased approximately 30% with much clearer planning and careful tracking of progress.
